I'm stock everything on mine still. I noticed the same thing w/ the PS4S tires. Lots of tread left, but the compound is cycled out.
The search is on for tires and/or wheels now.
Also, on COTA I started to experience some pretty drastic pulsating from the brake pedal as well. Any idea how to improve the situation?
I'm about to swap out the pads w/ G-loc , but perhaps the stock rotor is warping. Not sure...
A legit track pad will help this. There are more than enough good options now. We've had brake judder on more than one car that ran stock rotors/pads.

Never lived with it, so this is JMHO: But yeah, probably. The brake system has to work with a total electrical failure, so the BBW is just tuning the "feel" of the brakes. So if there's feedback from the rotors I expect BBW won't trim it out.

I'd call Louis @GSpeed and get a set of the Cobalts (he had a run done). We did a 'pad slap' and had some pulsations as well, but I'm 99% sure with a very thin fresh cut of the rotor (to eliminate old pad) the new ones will be fine. Some base pad material is close enough that you don't have cohabitation issues, but some aren't. Gotta test to find out and so we did.
Love the Cobalts....can't speak to anything else because we've not tested them but we won ST2 Nationals at MidO on them (and won COTA nationals the year before as well) and we've been very happy.
This is excellent information and thank you for sharing. We HAVE NOT rigged up the real time temperature rig, so we were taking some probe temps and trying to get a handle on them since this is a very new tire for us.
Would you mind sharing if the feel/driving style is different and expand on that between the 888R and the Cup2?
Huge thanks,
Costas
cars and such...
I realized today that the PDR records tire air temperature which can be overlaid in cosworth toolbox by lap. Sweet!
