Does the C8 have AFM and, if so, how did they handle the vibration issue without a torque converter like on the C7?

IIRC, Tadge mentioned somewhere that when running on 4 cylinders, the non-fueled 4 cylinders have the valves closed in such a fashion that the air in the cylinders compress, serving as a shock absorber, to reduce vibration.

Read the below link to response about C8 AFM. Your question was answered back in Nov of 2019.

Does anyone know if the AFM defeater that plugs into the OBDII connector works with the C8.? I had one on my C7 and still have it.
Thanks
Alan

GM's AFM system has always done that, I think the "spring" you get from the compressed air ends up being more efficient than keeping the valves open.

I've read that they let the clutches slip ever do slightly to quell the vibrations.
