the systems are expensive given all the design engineering Dyno development and component costs. Our engineering team logged thermal testing on the stock c8 system and heat soaked the c8 on our Dyno and on the road. The fabspeed cad developed systems ran significant cooler than the OEM GM C8 system so heat is not an issue.
sone of our systems cost more than people might expect due to these factors:
we are the North American importer distributor for HJS EMISSIONS Technology Catalytic converters. We import German Emitec tier 1 catalytic converters euro 6 homologated for the c8. These catalytic converters support over 1100HP on each cylinder bank and Have massive surface area and precious metal loading. No check engine lights 100% guaranteed and no tune required. Flow the equivalent of 90% of a straight pipe while being clean!. A good thing. These catalytic converters are very very expensive and flown in from Germany.
we utilize these catalytic converters on Ferrari F12, 488 pista, 812 super fast, and the 720hp GT2RS . We could have used small Hjs German catalytic converters and “ got the job done” but size matters along with design for sports car sound, clean maximum power and long term reliability durability.
additional cost are defense quality military specification 2200 degree thermal covers constructed of amorphous silica matt covered with 321 stainless steel mesh and then covered with rock wool Kevlar external blankets with 321 stainless steel spring fasteners. The combination allows the visceral corvette to breathe while making the engine bay much cooler. Everything is 100%cnc machine, bent, and hand tig welded back purged in house.
the rear catback corvette c8 OEM exhaust weighs 76 pounds 36kg. The fabspeed maxflo super sport X pipe is 76mm 3.0” Cnc mandrel bent in house and uses 321 USA manufactured interlocked flexible bellows and 2000 degree heat wrapping in areas required just like GM. In fact we wrapped even more to keep the engine bay operating cooler. Thermal testing showed cooler on test probes.
the quad tips are matt auto claved carbon fiber over stainless steel ventilated liners so the carbon tips look great even after race track events on rear engine GT3RS cars running open headers on hot summer days. For the mid-engine corvette c8 these tips look great and are light weight.
a lot of materials and over 5 different rear exhaust configurations were cad designed and street sounded tested and Dyno tested before we released the maxflo X pipe. No resonance no drone and saved a lot of weight/ mass of the rear end of the car. A win win for the bad-*** new corvette c8.

one thing that’s interesting our Maxflo C8 3.0” 76mm X pipe has spectacular sports car sound with no drone and is a nice option.
you know perhaps fabspeed should offer a demo system for c8 enthusiasts. The car is so very easy to remove and replace the exhaust. Perhaps we could send systems to people to try.
simply open rear hatch , remove luggage bin, remove rear bumper cover , unplug wire harness to lights and license plate, unbolt OEM 76 pound mass9ve rear monolithic muffler, replace with light weight fabspeed motorsport system , if a valved system bolt-on Tennenco valved actuators , plug in wiring harness. Then reverse above steps and go drive her and enjoy.
ill send pictures of our valves . Had the CNC machine all base adapters on our HAAS VF2 mill for a plug n play solution . A lot of fun and exciting “ gear- head” work
my guys are on the C8 and I’m designing, engineering, and Dyno developing parts for a 2020 porsche 718 GT4 I bought several months ago. The vette would blaze this car in a race but it’s a nice car too. At fabspeed we like all hard core sports cars.
