Default Seat memory operation

With my manual transmission 2015 C7 I was able to have the seat automatically move to the programmed position PRIOR TO STARTING the engine and WITHOUT HOLDING DOWN the driver #1 button on the side of the door. It only required that the parking brake be set, clutch depressed and accessory on (without starting the engine). On my current C8, I must hold the door button down continuously until the seat moves into the preprogrammed position. It will not automatically move unless the engine is running. And sometimes, that does not operate unless the button is depressed continuously. My dealer does not seem to know the solution. Chevrolet says it could be a software issue but offers no advice other than to manually hold the button. And this is an $80,000.00 luxury world class, track capable, sports car! Does anyone have thoughts, suggestions, or a solution to this problem? I have contacted Chevrolet Customer Service twice and am currently waiting for their latest response.

All I do is put my foot on the brake when it's in Park, press the start button and it starts and seat moved to my #1 position.

JerryU,

I want it to do that WITHOUT THE ENGINE STARTING. That’s how it functioned on my C7 Vette!

Save the wave,
Ed

Actually a fun story with the C7. Depends on the year! Unlike my C6 where I just touched my #1 button momentarily and it moved forward NOT so with my early 2014 (built September 2013.) Had to hold my #1 button in until it moved fully forward. OR you could start the car and it would move to your key FOB.

BUT having an M7 had to contort to push the clutch pedal down all the way to start the car. It also had a silly option to move the seat forward when you opened the door! You watched as it moved forward before you got in! I called that the Superman option as you had to be faster than a speeding billet to use it!

I developed my own creative solution which was quick. While I reached for and buckled my seat belt with my right hand I pressed and held the #1 button with a finger on my left hand. Bit awkward at first but became 2nd nature in the 3 1/2 years I had it.

They came up with a software "option" (they didn't even call it a fix) I called hit the start button twice. It was available in 2015 as I recall and on my 2017 Grand Sport (BTW, they also eliminated the silly Superman Option.) . Never got it for my 2014 as my method was quicker! You pressed the start button without depressing the clutch and the seat moved forward to you FOB setting. Then you had to press it again to start the car! I called that the two button start. You also had to waste a right hand movement instead of using it to pull the seat belt clip over! Felt like I was driving and airplane with a check list! Fred Taylor would not be happy with those required inefficient moves!
