Default intake system

Been off Forum for a few years, sold 2015 Z06 and ordered the new C8. Not sure if Jim Hall is around, Halltech Systems. Has there been any testing done with intake systems?

Jim Hall sold the company in 2020, but he is still an integral part. I'm just not sure if he is on the forums on a daily basis anymore. A C8 system is in development at Halltech but a release date has not been set yet. Harding Performance will be selling it as soon as it is available.

just to let you know your hardingperformance.com link in your signature doesn’t work.

Halltech url is here https://www.halltechsystems.com They are not yet showing a kit, but they have space for it, so clearly they are moving in that direction.

AFE has two intake kits available for pre-order right now, and available next month. AFE & AttackBlue both are selling drop-in air filters as well. I haven't seen anything from K&N yet.

Realistically, we are still in the "zone" where we can't tune the ECU and thereby can't major upgrades in power.

I had the new prototype AFE CAI system on my C8 for R&D and testing, it is a awesome system with 2 large inverted cone filters that sounded great at wide open throttle and down shifting. It is a quality work of art with a lot of engineering development time involved. They really knocked it out of the park. Functioned fine, no CEL's or fitment issues.

Dyno it or have dragy/time slips? Quantitative data on the gains? I'm curious on these systems

Agree.....and there is one C8 that has 510rwhp with a best ET of 10.55@129. I guess that's a little more at the crank. This C8 has headers, ported throttle body and intake manifold, AFE Filter, and drag pack.
There are videos on YouTube. CARLOS races at Bradenton Motorsport Florida.

Is this snowblind? I think he had light work done on the heads too.

No, that was Carlos Riuz from Naples Florida. I am familiar with Snowblind from up North. Same white cars with different set ups. Carlos's C8 has no head work. Google......"RearWheelDrive " and should see some good stuff on the C8 regarding bolt ons and drag racing.

My plan is to get an AttackBlue drop-in air filter then an AFE intake system once they release a plastic version (not carbon fiber) that's somewhat less outrageously priced.

We are getting some of the AFE carbon intakes, had some on preorder. Should be getting it on later this month to next, depending on which style you get, track or black. Feel free to text us at 213 394 2886.

The prototype was removed, it was 3D printed and now it is being in the final stages for production. I have now only have the performance aftermarket filter on, they also tested this OEM replacement performance filter on my C8. They have not yet told me any final numbers on the CAI system, I am waiting for the final production system to be fitted now.

Stock Dyno Numbers where about 10 HP over the others they had tested here on 91 octane 448.00 HP and 429.53 TQ. Haven't taken to the strip yet due to this phony pandemic, the only strip close by runs only 1/8 mile and they are screwing you over for to run private events at $100.00 so it looks like Fontana has been closed for 1/4 mile and may never reopen, Don't think Bakersfield T&T's lately and they usually don't have many. So if things ever get back to normal I then do some runs. I have not yet seen any final numbers on the CAI system, just waiting now for the production system.
