Should I have any concerns about installing aftermarket headers om my 2020 C8? I'm considering Kooks. Will anything need to be reprogrammed? Will there be ant HP increase without tuning? Thanks for your guidance.
This is the dyno sheet provided to me from American Racing which I also independently verified a before/after from EFX Tuning in NJ, the gains are legit and well documented on this forum and FB. The C8 has wideband 02s which can adjust for the changes. You do not need a standalone or piggyback, anyone that says different clearly is stating an opinion and not facts. The top 2 NA C8's in the country run ARH headers (10.52 and 10.55 respectively). I have 4k miles on my set with no issues or CEL's. Good luck with your car

While a lot of the companies mentioned in this thread make quality parts, all performance companies claim gains. We won't really know if it's worth it until more people install and dyno them. On top of that, no one is really tuning these cars yet without a piggyback or standalone ECU. We won't know for a while if headers make a difference on mild builds.
TL; DR - No one really knows for sure the real impact of adding headers to the LT2 yet.

Good point! I guess I’ll be among those who install early pending tuning software.

My personal experience, ARH installed, dyno proven power gains and much improved sound.
I plan on headers as soon as my car is delivered, built 6/10/21, no idea where it is at. Personal experience dyno difference? Or just it is louder? Thanks.
Fabtech headers are priced right, ranging from $1,199 to $1,499 depending on the finish. As with ARH, they have 1-7/8” runners, which I understand to be optimal for the C8. Has anyone installed these and performed pre and post installation dyno runs on an otherwise stock setup?
why would anyome spend ~2 grand on cats that produce less than 5 hp when headers cost less.
Soul performance claims 17 rwhp gain. I saw one Youtube video where the gains were only 8 rwhp, but another one by Chevy Dude showing the 17 rwhp gain - I wonder whether the Chevy Dude video was sponsored by Soul Performance since Soul Performance links to it from their website. Nonetheless, 8-17 rwhp is an extremely large tolerance. It would suck to be the guy that payed $2,995 for the cats and only gained 8 rwhp.

American racing headers dynoed all the so called "sport Cats" with their headers and found minimal to NO gains . The oem cats are larger with bigger flange openeings . They work just fine.
Thats why ARH do NOT offer a phony "cash flow" sport cats.

Chevy dude is a tool.
There is still a good use case for high flow cats whether there is power to be had or not. Different exhaust sound while still eliminating the fuel smell. If tuning ever happens there could be some more gains to be had. I will agree the cats are overpriced.
ARH long tubes are now certified 50 State Legal. There’s no warranty or emissions inspection issues to be concerned about. You are good to go!

You have a link or proof? On the website there is a disclaimer that says for racing only and not public roads. Also has GM said warranty will stay intact? Thanks
