Thanks for taking the time to make the video…..inside is what interested me and like you said, plenty of video with cold starts and revs out there which is interesting for about 5 seconds.
Looks like a Borla ATAK for me….maybe even paired with some Soul cats!

We must have set a record, 5 experienced technicians completed SS installation in 4 hours. You need extra long extensions, small tools, a Lift. Heat shields were somewhat mysterious and required trial&error. Sound improvement is awesome, I am glad I did not get ATAK as this sound system is perfect for me. Have no CEL"s so recalibration not necessary. When oem system is removed, Borla system gives you a bit more working area. 3 nuts on right side flange was difficult to remove Quality design and black tips on black background is perfect.
My concern is not wrapping the system in heat shield, just shielding the top. I won’t be tracking so I’m not super concerned about the diffuser. I’d simply cut away the existing OEM crossbar below the mesh. Possible?
Anyone know where I can download a copy of the GM re-learn procedure (GM document ID 5406413)? I would like to read it to see just what the re-calibration entails.
Just had the S-Type installed at Ciocca as an official GM Accessory and I couldn’t be happier! The sound is perfect and I definitely think the ATAK would be too overbearing. To each their own!
Let me try this again. The photo is the rear of my car with the stock NPP exhaust (and my great-nephew). The links are to videos on my OneDrive. It might ask about the OneDrive app, but you should be able to just click and watch the videos. They are before and after cold starts.
I am still 3-4 months out from putting my order in, but I just noticed today that the Borla exhaust option was a selectable build option (~$4800). If I were to go with the Borla setup, when ordering the car, should I also still order the performance exhaust option? I ask as I am curious if there are other features that are included in the performance exhaust beyond just a Cat-back that I would want to go with the Borla Cat-backs?

I could be wrong here so don’t quote me, but I believe you need to get the NPP in order to have the ability to switch between different exhaust sound levels, even with the Borla once it’s installed. Maybe someone else can confirm or deny this.

This is correct. You need NPP performance exhaust to take advantage of the Borla adjustable modes.
I'm on the Chevy Accessories website and the Borla exhaust is on sale for 10% off with discount code ELIGIBLE10 and installation doesn't seems bad either, $312.50 at the dealership nearest my house.
A YouTube channel called MakeErLoud is doing a Corsa high performance exhaust and cats. Check them out to compare the differences between Corsa and Borla!
To all the members from Southern CA, where are you getting your exhaust installed? I am from Bakersfield, but not happy with 3 Way Chevrolet here. I am willing to go to S. CA and get it installed since I visit my mom at Fullerton every couple weeks anyway. Thanks, guys.

If you are willing to drive to So. Cal, right near LAX, there is a place called Wheel Enhancement. These guys are real professionals and have a mechanic/installer there that is a meticulous artist. They primarily address the high-end Porsche/Ferrari customer, but have treated me and my Corvettes really well for over 10 years. Their bread and butter is high end wheel sales like HRE's and others + suspension setup. But KEY to the conversation here is they have access to the same remote CODE reset service that dealers do, and they know how to use it. and will not let the car go while exhibiting CELs, or codes of any sort. I chose these guys, for these reasons and because of the way they are extremely careful with cars ( and paint jobs) that have to have the entire bumper removed to gain access to the exhaust systems, ie, most Ferrari's. I can show you pictures of how my local dealership stored the rear bumper while removed (I had to have the Tremec tranny replaced due to it leaking shortly after delivery) and it's SCARY!! Dealers are dealers! Send me an IM for details if you want more details. All I can say is these individuals know the meaning of honesty and professionalism and are amazing.

I must say I do love this exhaust ( S-Type). Its perfect! Not too loud , but just loud enough. Great burble on downshift and just all around great tone, on it, or around town. Had an issue early on, but Borla was great about correcting it! Happy Borla customer here, for life!

Can you clarify for me - you mentioned an official GM accessory - you're not talking about the borla exhaust that's available on the GM accessories website are you?
There apparently is a "GM version" available through there, which is different from the stype and atak. But you mentioned yours was an stype so just wanted to clarify.
The "GM" version in the Chevrolet accessories site is the same as the one you'd order along with the NPP option when you order your C8. I believe it's considered as an accessory option on the order sheet. That means it can be "GM dealer installed" to replace your existing NPP that will come from the factory. It will also be covered by the GM C8 warranty when installed by an official GM dealer. Since it's custom made only for GM, Borla doesn't advertise it on their website. You can only get this version through GM.
