That Trifecta announcement is interesting. It doesn't say they've cracked anything. It says they've purchased a CT4-V to develop a tuning solution.
Maybe they'll figure it out. But at this point it looks like it's just hype.

Through our back channel info it appears the boot loader has been cracked, no tables are defined yet though. But still a very positive move in the right direction. The same company that cracked the boot loader for HP tuners did it on this one.

That's great. But what about keeping the rest of the car happy? If what I've read is correct, you can't correctly sign the CAN messages without the original GM security keys. The rest of the car gets pissed and starts shutting things down. Cracking the ECM is only part of the equation on this platform.
