Please excuse my ignorance but I’ve always been confused about the use or prohibition of ABS by IMSA and the GT3 Pro class. What I have read seems to indicate that the use of ABS is some how an advantage to Corvette Racing over steel brakes in WEC and GT3 Pro. My confusion stems from my assumption that ABS has always been superior and I have never understood why it was banned in some circuits. I suspect I’m missing something simple here so could somebody please enlighten me? Everything written seems to assume that all of us understand the relative benefits of each system and give no explanation.
Its what separates them men from boys. You think your a pro? Prove it.
That's it, nothing more, nothing less.
Hmmmm. Thanks for taking the time to respond. Perhaps I wasn’t clear in my post. Not trying to suggest I’m a man or a boy so no need to prove anything. I would still be interested to learn why one is more or less desirable than the other. Appreciate any well meaning responses.

Its not about desirability. Its about driver skill. Going back to GTLM versus GTD. GTLM = all pros. GTD surprisingly has a lot of pure amateurs. Now that GTLM is GTD Pro, braking skill is one of many attributes that separates a 'Pro' from an 'amateur'. Awhile back F1 had ABS and they did away with because they wanted driver skill to be more involved.

Maybe they should never have added fully synchronized transmissions.
