Default LG C8 Development Thread

I should’ve started this a few weeks ago but I’ve been a little busy with day to day operations.

Day 1 Arrival at LG

Day 2. Nitrous on the car netted a 100whp power increase with no tune. (We felt that the conservative factory tune along with race gas we would be safe to run a 100 shot).

Day 3. We drove to TX2K and on our third pass on an extremely well prepped track experienced wheel hop and broken an axle.

We returned home and sent the axles to our friends at The Driveshaft Shop. New upgraded axles were to us in less than a week.

Forgeline wheels were next on the list.

While we waited for new axles and weather to clear up we began working on our line of exhaust systems. We are currently testing shorty headers that will connect to factory cats. Results from that testing coming soon!

Still testing and tweaking for more power, but we're getting there. Installation of these is a breeze compared to C5/C6/C7, just remove the braces and drop them in one handed!

All good! I can't say I'm overly upset at the things GM leaves off, gives us aftermarket guys a market.

Interested in hearing the sound of the car with headers! I loved my LG headers on my C6.

It sounds better but still pretty muffled with the factory cats on, I'll get some good video when we replace the cats with test pipes in a few days.

Besides looking at WOT, are you measuring the change in TRIMs at part throttle? Curious how much the computer has to compensate when driving in town.

We haven't done anything other than WOT.

Zero issues, the vented rear extracts a lot of heat.

I know this might fall into issue with IP, but Do you think it's realistic to "crack" the ECM and tune with the stock computer or do you think people will have to go standalone like the motechs with lambo.

Nice. Get rid of the eccentrics. My tubular uppers have two Heims and one ball joint. All adjustment is done at the top. The bottom gets a one time shim adjustment.

From what I understand the stock computer will be tuneable at some point. That being said, if it takes longer than six months, I think you'll see people start to make the jump to MoTec, AEM, ProEFI etc.

We'll get there for sure, eccentrics are trash. Nice!

From what I read, the ECM stays in closed loop. The A/F ratio is monitored by a wideband which allows the ECM to continue to make air fuel adjustments even at WOT. Of course, there are limitations to how much A/F adjustments before a CEL.

Anyone else see this?

I'm in the market for a lowering solution to my car with Magnaride and the front lift. Additionally how about 200CEL high flow cats that won't need a retune?

Drop spindles and high flow cats are in the works. Keep an eye on this thread for updates!

In addition to the headers/200CEL cats, lowering spindles for the front lift, I'd like to add spacers to push the OEM base wheels out a bit further. Let me know when you guys have solutions ready to ship!

Nice work. Great ideas. Keep them coming.

Do you think the 200 cell converters may need some type of o2 simulator, to keep the ecm, from spitting out a 420. Then the car going into limp mode.
