hi @EC145pilot: thanks for your time on taking the pic, the photo address my concern about that hole may send heat to the surrounding plastics during harddriving......
I'd reply thank you! I only paid $140 bucks for them and they're not one of those cool titanium cat back exhausts...they're just the tips. The only reason I started this thread is to help others trying to change their exhaust tips because I couldn't find good info on how to replace them. Hope you found the thread useful. Thanks for stopping by!
LMFAO I love that it says Akrapovic. If I'm gonna fake having a brand name exhaust, you're damn right it's going to be the $10,000 one! .
How did you specify this, or do they just come that way?
They just came that way. Pretty difficult to find them without that logo for that style at least.
For 21c8...haters will b haters. Most everything is now "Made in China"...jm2c

Just got mine in the mail this week. Ordered from Amazon as instructed... I think they look great, can't wait to get them on the car but it will probably be a minute....
Nice! Might have to go your route next time. I'm starting to get a slight yellowing on my outer tips from the heat. I'd go with the 4.5" though. I like that they fill the hole in the exhaust cutouts completely. Thanks for posting a link.
After some time, used smittydog's tips, and mortelec procedure.....sound changed...not louder, but maybe more refined, maybe due to the lack of the small holes on the oem tips..
I installed my tips yesterday. I used my 20V DeWalt die grinder with 2 inch cutoff wheels. It took about 10 minutes to cut off the tips. Another 5 or so to grind the factory welds a bit. Another 15 to install the tips. No bumper removal, and very easy. Cost was $177.00 complete. Ebay tips.
