4 cylinder mode sounds a bit rough, but not too bad.
Since there are no valves you hear 4 cylinder mode.
It is worth it for the V8 sound.

Track mode and manual mode never kick in to 4 cylinder mode.

I had my dealer install the GM/Borla exhaust with carbon tips. I love the look and sound - a deeper husky rumble at idle and wicked in Track mode with lots of burbles and pops when downshifting. Available from parts.chevrolet.com.

FWIW, dealer install will not void warranty. Installation was very reasonable $350.
