Default Drag Pack Disappointment

Went to Showtime last night with half my drag pack installed (still waiting on front tires). I didn't install TPMS sensors in the rear wheels and the car would not go into launch mode. Slowest ET and almost the slowest mph I've seen on my car do date. Does anyone know if I don't run any TPMS's if launch control will work? Will 0 TPMS sensors work the same as 4? I expected a higher trap speed with the rear wheels weighing 13lbs less each even without launch control. I lost 2 mph in trap speed from the last time I ran. I am running a 26 inch rear tire now thinking it would improve acceleration. Was it just a fluke or should I have gone with the stock tire height or bigger?

You can run zero sensors or all sensors but nothing in between.

So launch control will work without any sensors? Is there anything else you need to do, disable the air pressure monitor system? Will the air pressure warning symbol still be lit?

Yes you are fine with doing everything with no sensors. The issue is if it reads one sensor or up to three sensors then it assumes there is a failure.

Hey Brother,

Just a heads up we have seen C8's not go into launch control with all TPMS active when the tire diameter ratio between front and rear is too far off as well just a heads up so the 26 in tall tire may still give you issues unless a shorter front tire is also used.

Thanks
Andrew

The front tires I ordered are also 26 inch so I hope they work. Stock sizes appear to be 27.25 rear and about 25.75 in the front.

Your correct NonZ51Mark, but the OE rear tire is 27.2 and the front like you say is about 25.75, the car is programed for the 1.5 inch tire height or circumference difference between front and rear tires. The 26 tall rear tire maybe your issue, I have read the electronics have about 3% to work with, a 26.5 inch rear tire for instance may have been no issues.
