C8 Dead Battery

Hi,
My bosses C8 has been sitting for around two months went to start it but it won't unlock so I'm thinking the battery is completely dead. Tried to us the key out of the fob put it in and turned it but nothing is happening.
Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong.

The key in the FOB is for manual release of the door. Are you saying you could not get that to work? I have never done it, but they say you have to turn it really hard. Once the door is open you can then manually release the trunk using the cable - that is in the manual. Then, once the trunk is open you can get at the battery. Thats in the manual.
