Default P0340/P0341 DTC problem

Hello everyone,

I'm experiencing an issue with my C8. Occasionally, after starting the engine, the check engine light comes on, and after performing an OBD diagnose, two error codes appear: P0340 and P0341. Both of these codes are related to the camshaft position sensor. I've already replaced the sensor, but it hasn't resolved the problem.

This problem occurs sporadically, typically after the car has been parked for several days.

I live in Poland, in the EU, and my car is no longer under warranty, so I don't have the option to take it to the dealer for repairs.

I would appreciate any advice or suggestions on how to address this issue. Thank you in advance for your help.

Sorry to hear about your issue. I have no personal experience with this but would look at the wiring/connectors to see if there is an issue there. If both can be cleaned I would start there. It is possible that the cam position sensor that was replaced is bad too. Hope you get it resolved. If so, let us know what you discovered.

If you don't have a copy of the service manual, you might want to get one. The procedure dealing with those two codes is 7 pages long. Bottom line is it could be the sensors, the wiring harness (it says wiggle it), the circuits, or the Engine Control Module.

Your title said DCT problem, but his is an engine problem right?

Did you replace the sensor with a Genuine GM Part?
I learned the hard way that aftermarket sensors are not as reliable as original manufacturer parts.

A long time tech (40 years) and racer told me that the OEM's have stringent QA processes in place to weed out marginal electronic parts. (They may work but are not fully up to specifications) Those parts rejected by the QA process tend to end up in the aftermarket. So they may either not work outright or fail prematurely.

Now, I always buy electronic parts and sensors from the manufacturer.
