A hell of a lot more cell data is sold than what comes from a vehicle.
Is it really that complicated to separate the issues?
That cellphone data doesn't cause insurance rates to increase... if you're unable to understand that basic separation of issues, further discussion is pointless.

Wasting your time. Some people simply aren't able to critically think that's why they go to college to regurgitate info freely found on the internet.
I think different states have different options. Try saying you're a California resident and see what you see.
I tried that route and my take is it’s useless unless you live in CA which actually has a real privacy law. That all states should have and desperately need.
The engineer in me wonders if you could encase the antenna in electrostatic bag? Maybe make a grounded metal screen around it (i.e. Faraday cage)?
Just a thought.
Yet another person missing the point. Cant see the forest for the trees. My cell phone isnt selling my driving data to my insurance company causing me real, measurable financial harm.
As soon as I read this post, I called OnStar and canceled my [free] subscription. I don’t need an app to tell me my tire pressure is low or I need to change my oil.
And as far as the sarcastic cell phone comment goes, I keep ‘Location Services’ turned off and all my apps have to ask permission to use location services, which after I grant permission, I immediately turn off location services.
PITA I know, but BB is real and you can’t rely on your elected representatives to safeguard your privacy. Just as you can’t rely on local law enforcement to get there in time to prevent bodily harm.

It's easier to just unplug the antenna and put a dummy load on the transmitter... which has already been done by at least one person here.

The cell phone pinging the towers and reporting (which is unavoidable and necessary for the very operation of the system so it's ok) and of course android itself probably sells you out to google even if no apps do.

Google just got fined for using data that was supposed to be encrypted. Cant trust any of the companies. Period.

Sounds like something that would work but what a sad statement about our society. We really have no idea who gets all this personal information and what will ultimately be done with it regardless of what the internet experts here proclaim.
Is the cable end a standard connector, such as F type or F pin, or BNC? I think if it is a standard connector, one can order a terminator from amazon.
In an earlier post (I believe it was this thread), I identified the connector with the specific part number. Grab one of those, solder a 50ohm resistor from center conductor to ground, and you have a pretty decent load (good enough for these purposes). Really strong cell service will still likely have enough residual energy to be received, but the only way to avoid that is to go deeper in the system (i.e., track the trace further back and place the load closer to the receive amp and shield the **** out of it at that specific location).

This one? Its the link you posted above. And, you mentioned that the mating part is the one needed? I don't recognize this connector. I thought someone, in one of the threads, posted an image with the resistor in place. Is it s one-off connector or something standard?
Yes I built one because I could not find anything off the shelf. Mailed it to @jcthorne, and it apparently got lost in the mail. I'm building and sending another one, since I have enough to make ten.
Thanks to you all for the research and great information!
I have a preowned 2022 and get the display shown in the attached photo whenever I start the car regardless of where I am. Could the previous owner have disconnected the antenna feed? Do those of you who disconnected the antenna get this message? It'll go away if I "X" it out but returns at the next startup.

Thank you. I read that 4 times and I'm still dizzy. I have SiriusXM and it seems to work fine but this sentence would seem to indicate if I unplug the OnStar antenna Sirius won't work. "As part of the SiriusXM app software, the system uses the OnStar
cellular connection to access the SiriusXM servers"

Ok. So you have a SeriusXM subscription and you want to use SiriusXM right. And its mostly working right? So the XM antenna which is in the left side high frequency antenna is still connected right? So the vehicle also has Sirius XM with 360L and it requires an OnStar Subscription with "Connected Access" which means it relies on a the cellular connection - which I think yo said is disconnected. I think the message pops up because you are using Sirius XM and its attempting to enable whatever that 360L feature is. I think it would stop if you were not selecting Sirius XM as a audio source (but not sure).
Designer Imagines A Corvette That Looks More Like a Corvette Than the Corvette
