The C8 2020-2022 Z51 front brake uses 4 pins (T40 Torx) to hold in the brake pads. It also uses a cross spring held in place with pin that uses a spline bolt that is 9mm, 10 point head. It appears that it is not possible to buy the cross spring or pin and spline bolt separately from the caliper. If you change your pads often (track use), it is likely that the 9mm, 10 point bolt will fail and the 4 pins, which are available separately, will need replacement. Starting with the 2023 C8, the 4 Torx pins are gone, replaced by two pins, similar to those on the rear wheels of the 20-22 C8s and C7s. Also, the 10 point bolt now has a conventional hex head.
Is it possible to use the 23-24 front cross spring, 2 pins and revised spline bolt on the 20-22 C8s? I suspect the holes in the brake shoes or caliper may be different sizes in the 23-24 precluding their use in the 20-22 models. Anyone know if they are? Can the spline hex head bolt (23-24) be used instead of the 10-point one in the 20-22?
It seems Chevrolet has fixed a couple of nagging problems in the front brake calipers with the 23 model year. Well done. If the front calipers were not changed, can any of these parts be retrofitted to the early model C8s?

Where did you hear/get that info?
My 2024 Z51 is just like the prior years, 4 T40s and the spring plate with the pin retained by the weird bolt.
Neighbor up the street has a 2023 Z51, it's identical to mine.
Could you be referring to the non-Z51 calipers? They have the two pins like the rear calipers.
Online parts catalogs do no show pins, like the rear calipers, available for the Z51.

2023 Z51 calipers are identical to the 2021 & 2022 Z51 calipers, front & year. I've personally done brake jobs and these 3 model year C8 Z51s.
The quickest/easiest way to swap the front pads is to remove the 2 bolts holding the caliper to the hub and replace the pads from the inside, that way you're not monkeying around with pins/clips/springs.

That's how I do it. So much easier and those bolts are available if you want to, occasionally, replace them.
I had ordered that pin kit as part of Z06 brake upgrade. If memory serves, which it sometimes doesn't, the Z06 front calipers came with a center pin installed, and that's why I have extras,, I think. It does seem a bit weird though, the black portion seems too long, as if it would recess into the caliper.
Maybe Ken at KNS has some thoughts, he's the man! @KNSBrakes
