Someone else posted the link either in this or another thread. I just saved it when I saw it. As you can probably tell, I save stuff.

I had my C8 out yesterday and picked a flat road with no traffic to try and duplicate what this topic is about. At 55 mph in auto the car was in 7th gear and just before the trans needed to go to 6th I could hear a deep harmonic rumble from the exhaust. There was no knock or ping, just that very short deep sound from the exhaust. I really think this is what people are actually hearing and it is the nature of the exhaust system. I will also agree with what was said above about getting on it to clean things out. Over on the Ferrari Forum it is known as an Italian tune up. Maybe we should call it a "Merican Tune up".

Default Link for that?

Is there any known solution for this besides running in Manual or Track mode all the time? I don't mind AFM except for this issue. I know it's not healthy for the engine. Pretty sure it's low speed knock. When the warranty is out I will get the ECM unlocked and turn AFM off if there isn't any other options.

Update. I have determined it is not coming from the engine, it's some sort of rattle. Doing some research it seems C7's had a similar issue that was usually related to a weak serpentine belt tensioner.
Because it could definitely be something like that but why would it coincide with V4 mode? I mean it also chirps in V8 mode but much less frequently.

I think there are more vibrations in V4 mode that tax the belt tenstioner.

Lugging is something you can feel as well as hear and the computer in the C8 will not allow it unless something is wrong.
I will quote my post #9 again, since it has been almost a year and the discussion is still going.

1. We still have the issue
2. Something may be wrong but it's not obvious what hence the questioning & discussion
3. Dealers are incapable of helping on something like this
