Default Front Caster Alignment Question

Got an alignment done today and the Chevy dealer said " we couldn't adjust the front caster because its not adjustable".
I find that to be highly unlikely. Is there some special process for caster adjustment. Or....more likely, I probably need to use a different Chevy dealer?

Thats completely incorrect. Front caster is adjusted with the lower eccentrics. A good alignment technician knows the front lower control arm rear eccentric has more influence on caster and the front lower control arm front eccentric has more influence on camber. But you use both eccentrics to hit your desired camber and caster setting. One of the reasons I purchased a new stingray is because of the complete adjustability of the double wishbone front and rear suspension. I do my own alignment work in my garage so I have been studying extensively to understand what I'm playing with. I think you might have encountered a unqualified alignment technician, how is the vehicle driving now after his adjustments.

furthermore, there is a special tool required to check caster that surely they did not have. I think your current setting is only slightly above the correct number and if the car is driving well I would leave it alone.

The car seems to track fairly well. There is still a very slight pull to the right but not enough to where its bothersome. I would guess by looking at the alignment report that camber on the leftside wheels being slightly rightward biased might have a cumulative effect, but who knows.
I think I'll try a different Chevy dealer nearby next time I need an alignment. Thanks for the clarifications.

I’d take it to a good performance shop. IMHO most Chevy dealers aren’t trained or experienced in working on these cars. You’re better off going to a specialist who deals with high performance vehicles on a regular basis.

As the only tech in the shop where I work who does precision alignments on Corvettes, that alignment result is garbage.
There is a whole lot more to it than just 'make it all green'.
That hurts me in my heart to see that your car left the shop like that.

Yup. I have Advanced Racing Technology laser alignment equipment I use at home. I spend more time on my alignments than anyone in a shop ever would.

The special alignment tool is used to measure rear caster not front, that value isnt even listed on the alignment sheet and most likely not measured.

I got some sort of survey response from the dealer the other day. I guess because I said the alignment still wasn't correct and the car pulls to the right still when I did the survey the first time.
I'm half tempted to let them have another shot at it just to see what they can do and for my own sarcastic commentary.
