Default Drag Pack - info please

I would like to be able to have a 2nd set of wheels that are better for the drag strip. Skinnys are OK for the front, as long as they offer a significant weight savings. I have read that hoosier tires are the lightest, but don't buy them if you plan to drive to the track? not sure why. Am I better off to just run rears on light aftermarket rims?

I would love to see a hero run in the 10.99 range in cool Michigan weather in the spring. I got to 11.23@123 this fall on MRR wheels (-24lbs total, and an attack blue filter). I'd love to upgrade to a z06 but I'm looking at my car + 50K to run (maybe) 10.6s. If I can just go a little faster....

What kind of ET improvement have you seen with drag radial change

I'm planning on Borla S upgrade, throttle body upgrade, maybe a halltech intake, lithium battery etc etc...

Also - I see wheels for sale that fit both C8 and 6th Gen camaro, but I have asked a few guys with camaro drag packs for sale and they say they only fit C7 wide body years. 6th gen and C8 both have 14mm lug nuts so what gives?

You don’t want to run Hoosiers in the rain or even damp roads. Dry roads they are great. They are light weight
I had 18x12 and 18x5 Welds on my 2023 Stingray worked great on the street didn’t bring to the track.

Do a search on CF and you will see who and what it takes to get ij the 10’s with bolt ons

Good luck have fun

Add a ported intake manifold to your mod plan. I ran 10.80 but I had headers as well. Some members believe the headers don't add much but my trap speed at almost 126mph says differently. I have not seen another C8 Z51 3LT Cpe make that trap speed without headers with almost no weight reduction. But definitely without headers, you can run in the 10s with other mods. Keep us posted as to your results!

Awesome. What were you running for tires/rims? You had car backs plus headers? Im interested in the ported intake, does that do anything to your warranty? Just a swap or did you have your intake ported?

The C8/Camaro/Caddy V all share the the 5x120 bolt pattern and are interchangeable. If you have a non Z51 C8 you can run 17" fronts, the Z has bigger brakes and needs an 18" wheel iirc. I don't have any input on the Hoosier but the M&H 26x4.5 tire is light and the Mickeys are way heavier. My stock front weighs 53 lbs.

thanks! That is awesome info. I can see how the et would improve with that weight savings! Can you share the rim brand/size for front and rear? Do you know what the rear setup weighs?
