I’ve never given a first deposit yet. Mike told me no deposit until he calls me. But I would love that call lol.

I guess the folks who were early to get on the list didn't have to give a deposit but I know I did. A 2nd deposit would be needed when the order was put in I think.

If you dealt with Mike I seriously doubt you passed him a deposit. What you did is 'secure' your time stamp with your credit card. Thas is not a deposit...

I dealt with Mike and gave him a $1000 deposit on 8/6/2019.

Did you check you bankcard statement to see if your card was actually charged? Mike will take your credit card number when he date stamps your reservation file, but he hasn't been charging the actual $1,000 deposit until your folder comes up...

not true. I was CHARGED when I put my name “on the list” back in November. I’m not convinced that I’ll get a car, as I was told I was ~1100 deep at that time. At 300 a year I’m probably 4 years in barring significant attrition. I guess we’ll see.

Well, have you checked your credit card statement?

Appreciate the clarification.
I'd like to understand the whole.

It seems you initiated the deposit process online? or did you call Mike and he pointed you to the deposit procedure on line?

It could be Mike/Criswell automated the deposit process besides doing it the 'traditional telephonic way' for folks that actually can't walk to his office.

Thanks

Interesting..... So LiManZ06, have you bought any Corvette's or anything from Mike previously? And were you dealing directly with Mike? But aside from that, I noticed this invoice is dated November 2, 2021, which was a week or seven days after the reveal.... Perhaps the reservations began pouring in and the phone was ringing off the hook the moment the Z06 was revealed on October 26th.... I've worked with Mike before for my 2015 Z06, so perhaps he began to feel it was necessary to start actually collecting the deposit at the time in order to weed out anyone who might not have been serious or he thought might not follow through like previous customers. Who knows, but does it really matter? In fact, why has this even come up?

I have not bought from Mike/Criswell before, no.

Not sure of any of the “why”, but you could be right about the deposit being intended to weed out the folks who weren’t even remotely serious about actually buying a car.

this came up because someone made the claim that Mike wasn’t actually charging credit cards at the time
a person got on the list. I was simply providing evidence to the contrary.

It seems maybe those of us that got on the list in 19/20 (year) don’t get charged but people who got on subsequent did? There has to be a pattern here.

I was told by Mike on the phone when I got on the list July of 20 that he time and date stamps you’re folder he took all my info and cc info but would not charge until your turn comes up in the folder que in his file cabinet and that 4-50 % usually drop off when he starts those calls. This is right in line with what many others here have also said they were told around that time. I suspect he or they changed their policy some time later.

I’m not sure how he does it. I placed a deposit for a base car and asked to be on the Z06 list in April of last year. I was only charged a deposit for the base.

I was also not charged when I got on the list. Gave Mike the CC info but it wasn’t charged.
