C8 steering feel
Little background: been driving 40+ years, not a racer. This is my first Vette 2024 C8 Z51, stock Pilot Sport 4S.
Had many non-assisted steering (nor AC/windows/locks) vehicles then Hydraulic and now we're all here with Electric steering racks.
Plus side of non-assisted racks: felt everything, lots of feedback, feel road surface, fun unspooling after a corner etc. drawback you felt everything
. I’m liking the steering quickness/reaction time in Tour mode, the car turns with minimal input, drawback not much feel. In Sport/Track the steering wheel feels like its connected thru a Rubber steering column i.e. the wheel/car wants to stay put on center and minor movement is met with a “springy” feel, returning the wheel to center, while the car doesn’t react. I like a car that sits still on the highway tho. My 2020 Alfa QV had a super quick rack, drawback, car would wander on the highway.
Does the Sport/Track mode keep the car from feeling “twitchy” on the track? Someone noted the "Sawing" at the wheel.
