I would be shocked if the GM doesn’t politely tell him to kick rocks too.

That was not mentioned in the OP, it was later revealed. Technically, the service department is still responsible to correct it under warranty. Parts Department is a cost center, if they give it a way it would show up as shrinkage. Still, a wise business decision would've been to just give it to him free of charge. I could see a charge with expensive SS Torx star 5 point security screws (i.e. used for C7 ZR1 spoilers) that cost more than gold, but cheap sheetmetal screws are nothing special. OP should buy a bag from Amazon.

Can we just end this thread. Everyone is jumping to conclusions they know nothing about. You assume I'm an entitled jerk or trying to rip a dealer off or that I'm hiding information. This forum isn't meant to bash people, it's to help. If you have nothing good to say then keep it to yourself. I'm done with this thread

Yes, but the reality is the owner is not working the parts department counter. Modern dealerships are more like bureaucracies than mom-and-pop shops where the owners are on the floor. The parts dept. manager has quotas to meet for sales etc.

Next time this should be dealt with as a warranty claim.

Oh please, like you're so knowledgeable to the poor ignorant ones. I worked in a Chevy store as a manager for over ten years. If you think the "business owner" works in the parts department it's you that doesn't understand.

The thread is making me chuckle!

Really only two options IMHO.

* Set a service appointment for a warranty claim to get the missing screws installed under warranty;

* Go to the parts department and BUY the screws.

These should be the expectations and nothing else.

Yes the dealer could have GIVEN the screws for free as a goodwill gesture but the expectation should be to pay for them even at the over inflated price of $15 or set a service appt for a warranty claim.

Again, assuming you know something about me that you clearly don't. You've done nothing but insult me ever since I've gotten this car. What exactly is your problem.

At the risk of getting blasted here, this thread is in a downward spiral and needs to end.
