The Top-Flight bracket is so damn expensive though for what it is. I made my own, using a similar "method" of attachment, and cost of materials probably only ~$5 .
Got the top flight removable, best looking one on tbhe market IMO. Will remove it when I go to the USA for a lot of my road trips. Little worried that the reduction of grill area will overheat the car in the summer. That will be my excuse if I get pulled over and if that doesn't work I will pay the Corvette tax LOL.
So this isn't a plate thing any longer. You're ok to put a vinyl plate anywhere on the front of your car (where your hood, ya that should look way better) yet you don't want to just use the regular plate.
This makes no sense, Just use the damn plate. It's a law, if you don't like it that's fine but if you don't follow it then don't whine when you get nailed. People startin to sound like they're prison bi#$es "I had to stab that guy in the throat, I don't know why I got charged though, damn POlice doin they jobs"

You should be OK for heat. I had problems on a VERY HOT August day going ***** out at Mosport last year when I had the plate in the center.
I moved it to the side and no issue.
Cant imagine overheating on a regular highway......

Air flow is not cut off by the plate - the air just simply flows around it - no biggey - if you pasted the plate right to the rad's surface then you would have an effective reduction in flow and a problem...
Looks much better with the frame on. I had the same bracket...bought it at Wilson-N in the parts department. They didn't stock the frame.
Our car was a US car, sold by Roy Foss in Toronto. They put on the GM stick on frame. Black, not Victory Red. It fell off during my first long drive. Found that the guy who installed it had used screws too long, and scratched the bumper! quite a bit too. Lucky--found the plate and stick-on bracket.
Bill Smook commented on the bumper, and said that RF should have painted it...
I really like the Top Flight bracket, specially with the frame.
Best,
I think we should all email the nature ***** at the EPA. Tell them all the new cars are wind tunnel tested without front plates. Adding a flat piece of metal must hurt MPG. It would only be a small amount but we must do everything to stop climate change. Ask the to outlaw issuing and requiring front plates. The theory I have presented is true except for the fact climate change is real. But we know those morons think it is. It could work. Its about time we get something for our wasted tax money. If you look at new cars the bracket is an add on and has to reduce fuel mileage at least a little. On millions of cars it would add up to lots of fuel. Think of how the greenies would like that.

The top flight bracket is curved so hard to duplicate as for the frame I went to CTC $7.95 + a spray bomb (torch red)=$20.00 & change

AND, it would cut in HALF the number of plates to be manufactured, which again = less carbon footprint .
If you have a C6 Z06 or C6 Grand Sport there's a removable bracket from H&K Vette Accessories.
It doesn't hang below the splitter so it doesn't decrease ground clearance but is low enough not to completely cover the grill openings like others. Heat build up from blocking your radiator can be an issue in some of the hotter states.
It also can be removed easily without leaving any velcro or visible holes. I just use it for getting the tickets cleared, and then back off it comes!
Very happy with it. You can Google H&K Vette Accessories to find them.
This from someone with a car that has a place for it and would look stupid without it. I have a front plate on my C5 for that reason. If I had the filler it would not be there. I don't have one on my Sky as its an add on bracket and looks stupid. Almost 3 years and 16000 plus miles and no problems yet. My truck has the plastic inserts for the screws in the bumper and I drive that in other states pulling my RV so its on there. But then its a truck so it doesn't look too stupid. If I had the C6 it would not have one.
