Default Mid-Ohio 2011 Launch Thread

Less than a week to go until the best trip of the year boys!!

Here's the launch and trip down plan for Thursday morning:
  • East-End gang meets at the Petro-Canada at Salem/Kingston Rd. at 5:45 AM.
  • Roll through pick-up for Ray at Liverpool Rd ramp on the 401
  • Meet everyone else at Mark's Timmie's store in Mississauga (Mavis & Central Parkway) at 7 AM.
  • Grab some breakfast and hit the road at 7:30.
  • Stop at duty-free in Fort Erie and pick up supplies (should be around 8:45).
  • Hit the border around 9 AM. Remember when you cross the border to stay to the right and pick up the 190 South.
  • ** Do not wait for everyone else after you cross, it just causes problems**
  • Take the 190 to I90 West and we will re-group at the Angola service centre. It's the one with the McDonalds in the middle that you use the bridge to walk to and is about 17 miles from where we get on I90. We can fill up the tanks there and dispatch the morning coffees.
  • We'll stop for lunch and fill up along the way and hit Granville between 4 and 5.
  • Remember guys, we are at the Buxton Inn this year not the Granville Inn. It is right across the street from the Granville Inn so after we make that final turn onto East Broadway you will turn right into the parking lot not left.

Here's the map route:

Things to Remember
Passports
Coolers
Chairs to watch the race
Cameras
Sun screen
US $
Radios (Channel 5)

Sounds ok with me. I believe that puts an EEP meet time at the Petro Can @ Salem/Kingston Rd for 5:45 am? Pretty sure that's what it was last year...

Dave asked us to not use the parking lot when we get there for our tailgating. He said there is a parkade behind the parking lot that we can use instead.

You guys have fun. I wish I led a normal life in which I could just commit to an event and follow through with it.

I'll put a pot of coffee on!

If you guys would like specific things to eat and drink ... PM me your order ... who ever is leading the convoy on Thursday morning give me a call when you are at about Younge street and we'll start getting everything ready.

From Young/401? You need half an hour to get a breakfast sandwhich ready?

Is it best to take the 403 and then south on Mavis, or QEW and then north?
