Default Clean Windows

Ok guys and gals here is my question:
How in the heck do you get CLEAN windows? I have used alcohol 3% with water, vinegar and water, most of the stuff you get at the local shops. When I'm thru it looks great until I face the sun, and then streaks appear along with smudges. If there is a secret I surely would like some help. Thanks to all.

Use a glass polish and lots of water, then wash the car....dry...
then clean windows with quality window cleaner like Stone Invisible or ZEP sells a product...look at local car part store.

I tried everything myself and I always got streaks. Windex, Cinch, newspaper, vinagar, whatever. Then I discovered when using a good microfiber towel with Windex the windows easily clean with NO streaks. Its amazing, it cleans like magic!

What are you using for a cloth? I have this prob. too but have reduced (not eliminated) it by not using paper towels because they contain fabric softener. I use cotton towels that I wash and do not dry with fabric softener-the softener causes smears.

I keep a blue window cleaning rag in my car. They are available at auto parts stores and are a type of smooth microfiber rag that has (vitually) no lint. I use the Armor All auto glass cleaner, but I carry some of the moist towelettes (for auto glass) in my car for quick clean-ups. I use rainex after cleaning my windshield.

Finally, if you don't quote me, I'll tell you little secret. In a pinch, newsprint does a decent job of cleaning windshields also.

One pice of wet with water, newspaper, and one pice of dry newspaper to dry the windows with. I found cleaning my windows that way, is better than anything you can buy.

Me Too!

Also, try cleaning the outside with vertical strokes and the inside with horizontol strokes so that when you do see a streak you can narrow down where it is located.
BTW: I'd bet the streaks are on the inside.

I use the GM window cleaner and a soft rag or windshield paper (blue).

Works for me and it gets rid of the water spots as well.

Additional point: Use only dedicated microfibre towels for cleaning glass and wash them separately.

Non-streaking Windex and BJs discount club 24/$10 microfibre towels.

Btw, for detailing these towels with the labels cut off have passed the CD scratch test with flying colors and have never put any scratches on my clear coat. (I frequently check by side lighting with a shop light...zero scratches.)

I use Stoner's Glass Cleaner and special 'glass-cleaning' cloths (similar to what you might clean eye glasses or a plasma TV screen with).

I use Stoners Invisible Glass and a detailing microfiber cloth. I tried one of those glass microfiber cloths which was lousy and didn't clean very well. I've also used Perfect Glass which works well too. I've even used Meguiars Quik Detail spray and that cleans more than just glass.

Stoner's Invisible Glass
Sprayway Glass Cleaner
Meguiar's NXT Glass Cleaner
Adam's Glass Cleaner

These are my favorites, with Adam's being at the top. Meguiar's is my second favorite and is available locally like the other two aerosols I listed.

I find either of these glass cleaners and a dedicated waffle weave glass cloth/towel work wonders.

Use a light windex or any window cleaner then wipe with newspapers. For same reason the newspaper works extremely well at getting rid of the streaking...
