Finally got around to trying the Sonus "Trim & Motor Kote" on my cowl plastics. window trim, and C5Z brake ducts...

a) Much thinner than I expected. Even thinner than the 303 that I normally use. I use a small foam sponge "paint brush" to apply trim protectant to my exterior plastics, and it was difficult to spread the Sonus out without it puddling/pooling/running. Next time I will use a MF applicator.

b) I was nervous after applying it, as it instantly looked blotchy and streaky. I was tempted to wipe it all down to even it all out, but the bottle says "do NOT wipe".

c) When the product flashed in about 5-10 minutes, the blotchy and streaky look started to fade. After 30 minutes or so, everything looked MUCH better. No streaks.

d) Not sure if I am a convert or not yet. The finish is definitely shinier than the finish left behind when I use my 303 or 4:1 Meg's Hyper Dressing. I will probably wipe it with a dry MF towel to see if I can knock the shine down some.

Correct on the instructions to not wipe. I have done Jeep cladding's however by wiping wet with a microfiber. As far as the sheen-it's a little shinier than the almost pure flat of 303. It will tone down 24-48( to my eyes as I don't like that false shiny look).
Different spray bottle makes applying a fine mist the best method.
Just ordered a couple more bottles that should be here today I hope as I have 3 to do this weekend

I am sure that would definitely help. I just never mist trim protectant directly onto components, as I am always trying to apply it to very specific areas without getting overspray on anything else. I spray onto a microfiber applicator for larger areas and spray onto these sponge paint brushes for everything else. This is what I use for the cowl and window trim...

For long term without redundant maintenance for exterior/interior paint, rubber/plastic trim, I prefer coating.

Tire is another can of worms. However, the Optimum Tire Protection and Coating's claim for long term protection caught my curiosity. Following the initial one coat tire coating, now I like to do the wheel wells as well as the entire untreated engine compartment rubber/plastic pieces.

I like cars stay easy to clean and protected without redundant application with dressing and such to restore natural look.

Surely, coating has come a long way!
