Recomendations for 'microfiber' towels?
I have seen microfiber towels mentioned here many times. Any advice on the best place to get these? Are they that much better than 100% cotton towels? Any advice is appreciated.

there are much better at picking things up on the towel. They do a better job of wax removal and even the "quick detail" job after driving.
HOWEVER they still will scratch so use them (and anything else) with caution!
Got mine at Wal-Mart for next to nothing....use them for everything now...except interior windows (tinting) !

Costco has them on sale right now for $6.29 for a huge pack.
If you're going to be using the towels on your glass and dash they should be fine.
A great way to check to see if your towels are going to scratch your paint is to take you favorite CD and rub the towel onto the CD. If it scratches the CD relegate it to your glass care.

Personally - I've bought my micro fiber towels from Meguiars - Ultimate Wipes $5.99 each. I've had a chance to compare the Costco ones side by side to the Meguiars - and I found the Costco ones to be rougher and not what I'd use on my black car.
They're fine for the dash and even tinted windows (not dry, though!) It's the old story that you get what you pay for.....
Allow me to be a little philosphical for a minute -
John Ruskin said it best - "There is nothing in the world that some man cannot make a little worse and sell a little cheaper, and he who considers price only is that man's lawful prey."

The only micro fibers I will use on my paints are the http://www.dftowel.com which IS a cotton and cellulose (from plants) micro fiber towel, you just have to try them to believe them as I did.....I liked them so much I am now a distributor for them....

I get all mine from
http://www.premiumautocare.com http://www.properautocare.com
Both vendors offer great MF that will NOT scratch your car. I use them when I Zaino with super results. I got rid of all my cotton and use WW MF to dry and other grades of MF for other tasks inside and out.
The warehouse towels offered here locally have much to be desired. I always carry a CD with me to test MF. I polish the CD and if it scratches, it stays at the store.
