For my second visit to a drag strip today I lowered my rear tyre pressures to 20 psi. The track was a low grip one and I'm a bit clumsy so I got loads of wheelspin. After the 4th run I noticed that the outside 3" of both rear tyres was a little worn/scrubbed but the rest of the tyre was fine. If the pressure is too low the classic wear pattern is for both outside and inside edges to wear so I wonder if the problem is elsewhere.
It makes me think that the camber angle should be changed, anyone have any recommendations ? Would increasing the pressure to 25 psi help even things out ? I'll replace the runflats with grippier tyres once I've learnt to drive a little better !
One thing that did annoy me though was the tyre pressure monitors that gave little chiming warnings for each wheel. Is there any way to stop this ?
