Anyone using Trick Flow BBC Oval Heads?
I have been very happy with the AFR 195s on the 383 in my '74 Corvette, but AFR told me their oval port BBC heads won't be out until late this year at the earliest, and I don't have that kind of time.
The Trick Flow ovals have better flow numbers than the Performer or World Products (iron) oval heads, and have a smaller intake runner volume so they should have better low-end power. I am looking for lot's of low end grunt to get the Sub rolling.
Anyone have experience with the Trick Flows?
The rest of the buildup is a stock 454 with cast steel crank and rods, ~9.5:1 CR, Comp hydraulic roller cam (224/230, .510" lift) with roller rockers, Performer RPM intake, headers, Speed Demon 750 VS, MSD ignition, and that's about it. Only need to rev to about 5500 RPM. Truck will be going back to daily driver duty again with the new engine. Currently has 137K mile original 454 with Xtreme Energy cam, intake, headers, etc.
Thanks!
Jeff
