Default installing larger valves BBC

how are bigger vavles installed in BBC heads? what machine work is required? Is cylinder head porting req'd to take advantage of the larger vavles? thanks.

(just realized this is a better place to post this topic)

If you had the 2.19 1.88 heads you can install the 2.25 valves and 1.90 exhaust. There is room. I did this last winter. I think the 2.08 heads will only go to 2.19. Porting never hurt anything except bottom end.

He was saying that porting increases flow and reduces velocity which reduces the ammount of power you'll be doing at low rpm but will increase power at higher RPM.
