sorry..probably a dumb question.. but i am not much of a car modder...
i was just wondering if they can go together?
i thought turbos heat up your engines pretty good... and nitrous would add to it.. and be pretty dangerous...
Not only does it help cool the intake, it also helps spool the turbo and reduce lag.
Some of the supra guys run some pretty big turbos, with the 3L 6 it takes a bit longer to spool, so the N2O helps out a lot by creating more heat when it is burned... So all around it seems to work great. Just need a motor that can stand up to it.
We used an early shot of NOS to help spool up the turbos with a pressure switvh to turn them off at 10 PSI it was a fine line on when to turn on & off as if you got it wrong all you saw was tire smoke it also cooled the charge air temps so the turbo could pack more density into the chambers I always wanted to try a starting with big shot & then tapering off progressivly but the electronics wernt up to it at that time
