Swap pistons/rings from bottom?
I want to replace my KB hypers with forged. I was trying to make it a simple process and see if it's possible to come from the bottom end.
I'm not sure about how/if a ring compressor would work from the bottom and also can you hone the cylinders from bottom or do the main caps get in the way. I would like to leave the heads and valvetrain alone.
My gut feeling is you can't.

I have never heard of anybody doing it from the bottom, how are you going to hone a cylinder which may have a ridge near the top with the heads on? A ring compressor works on the flat surface of the block how do you do that from the bottom?

That's why I'm asking, I thought I heard someone in the past say you could do it. The ridge removal is a good point but this engine is still new so maybe not required. Just want to cross hatch the walls.

Nope not going to happen!!!! Plus you may want to check the weights as You may need to get the crank balanced as well
