Default What else do I have to modify????

Hi, I´d like to install a Edelbrock 600 Carburator with elec. choke on my 78 small block 5.7 (still everything original).
What else do I have to modify on my engine??? (Intake manifold, fuel line, air filter, distributor......)
Does a edelbrock fit under the regular hood

It'll fit under the hood no problem.

It won't fit on your Q-jet intake manifold, though.

Why are you changing to a 600 Edelbrock? Your Q-jet is at least as good and flows 750CFM. A good rebuild on the Q-jet will make it work great.

Where you get into hood clearance problems is when you try high-rise intake manifolds.

What he said. I personally would rebuild the Q-jet and use it. Not only does it flow better it also gets better gas mileage then the Elderbrock, due to the smaller primaries on the q-jet. Also it being original equipment it fits with no mods. needed.
