Where's Monty
How about an update?
Otherwise it's pretty much done. I've got to make an upper radiator hose and finish up some fuel lines from the fuel rails to the regulator. I've actually got the lines made up, but haven't installed them yet until I get some more heat shielding, should be here tomorrow as well.
I'm leaving for Wyoming on Thursday for a week and a half, so I won't be able to finish it until I get back. Anyone know anything about flyfishing?
Here's a pic of the engine from last weekend. It's almost done, I've even got the hood back on the car - the first time in almost a year (and it even fully opens and closes!).

I was with a old timer I used to fish with and even with the suns glare off the water he could tell you by the fine lines of water ripples that a nice trout was holding it's position in a certian little eddy in a stream. Then he would flick the fly out just a few feet in front of the trout and within second of the fly landing on the water the fight was on. He never ceased to amaze me with his accuracy and knowledge
I'm not an avid fisherman - I just have fun no matter where I go! They sell that beer in green bottles even out west!

Thanks for posting Norval, I along with probably many others have watching for Monty's updates too ;) .
George, I'm heading out to the Jackson Hole area of Wyoming for a week and a half, the Jackson Lake Lodge specifically. I 've never tried flyfishing before, just seen it on TV and in magazines, etc. I was thinking of maybe doing one of those guided flyfishing trips, I was just wondering if anyone here has ever done it.
Speaking of beer in green bottles, ever try Spaten? I think it's surpassed Heineken as my favorite. I'd never heard of it until we went to Germany and Austria last year, and we just randomly went to the Spatenhouse while we were in Munich. The local grocery store started carrying it, so now I'm hooked.

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
About the Heineken, I think it sucks and you should try and get some grolsch (yup the one in the snap cap bottles)
Speaking about Spaten, has anyone of you ever tried their special Oktoberfest beer (only available in october during the Oktoberfest)
All I can say is BUUUUUUUURRRRRRRRRRRRRPPPPPPPPPPSSSSSSSS SSSS

When are you gonna get that TT engine of yours going. With all the turbo setups coming to life, you've got to be itching to get yours done as well. Did you get those carbon fiber end-tanked intercoolers I pointed you to?
I like Grolsch too, I just never think to buy it. I guess Heineken is probably like Budweiser to you, the national swill beer. I still like it though... Hmmm, Beer.
Just out of curiousity, what stall converter are you going with? That engine looks wicked! I'm sure once you have the finished project you'll be VERY happy that you stuck with your project. Best of luck!
I am supposed to get it either today or tomorrow, and that's my last missing component before I can get it on the road.
I've kind of relaxed the intensity of trying to get it finished and that's helped. For several months, I spent almost every evening and most weekends working on the car, or constructing or helping to construct the turbo system. It started to become a chore, and my wife started getting frustrated with me, so I decided to just work on it when I felt like it,and just as long as it was fun. Still, I should be done with it around the first week of August.
I really do appreciate the interest and encouragement I've recieved via the forum as well as email. I honestly didn't know what I was getting myself into, but I think it's turned out pretty cool thus far. The results I achieved on the dyno surprised me, and I'm looking forward to getting it on the street. Admittedly, I intend to turn the power done to a more manageable level, and I've still got to address the rear end. I am skeptical that the Tom's Differential's stuff is really up to the task.

It would be nice to see a vette stand out in the crowd, esp with the fierce turbo crowd here. But in reality, thats one of the nicest motor builds, fact sheets, and honesty about ones build up that i've ever seen. Thanks for the honesty, letting some of us know exactly what it takes to go "that fast".
:yesnod: :yesnod: Good stuff Monty, but hard to find up here. I'll have to make a run into your neighborhood to get some. I've been lurking in the shadows awaiting your finished product.. then I'm comming over to see it, and drink all your Spaten too!! :D Have a great trip...
