I’m very unhappy with a set of TrickFlow heads I purchases for my SBC. I’ve done everything I could to build a strong bottom end to accept nitrous. I shopped around & settled on TrickFlow bare heads w/Manley valves and Crane springs, etc. when I was almost finished and ready to put on my Crane stud girdle, the holes were off. Evidently one must use proprietary TrickFlow stud girdle which are only sold with their own poly lock nuts.
Ive never seen this before, especially since Summit Racing advertises that the heads are compatible with most SBC aftermarket parts.
I have tried to call them for 5 days, waited on the phone, left messages, etc. so I’m a bit frustrated.
Thanks Kenova, but these are standard 23 degree sbc heads. The poly lock rocker arm nuts come so close to fitting my Crane stud girdle, perhaps 0.010” off. In my opinion, they were designed so the user must buy Trick Flow poly locks and stud girdle.
But, then again, I could be wrong.
Never fun to find that out after you bought them.....thats a huge downside with chinese heads noone wants to listen to.
Do you have to have a stud girdle? What cam are you running and size studs?
Trick Flow heads aren’t Chinesium, they are made in USA.
my cam is Crane roller #119841. Intake lift 0.539” at valve. Exhaust lift 0.558” at valve. Redline is 7000 RPM. MANLEY valves & rods, Wiseco pistons
Thanks, good suggestion. I’ve been dealing w/ Summit & Jegs a lot. Their return policies are second to none.
However, I bought the heads bare because I wanted Manley valves and Crane springs. They have been port matched to the intake manifold so I wouldn't think Jegs would take them back.
appreciate your suggestion.
