Default Big Block Intake question

I am asking this for a buddy of mine that has a 68 with an L88 induction. Does anyone know if the Merlin Single Plane Intake would fit under an L88 hood. I have heard good things about this intake and wondered if anyone is using it. Bill.

I think it might, but I am not sure. I am running a Holley Strip Dominator on top of my 454 with a drop base air cleaner and it's tight against the hood. If you knew how tall the Merlin intake is in comparison to the Strip Dominator, you'd have your answer.

NOTE: The Strip Dominator is a pretty tall single plane.

Bence, thanks for the reply. He can get one real cheap and I told him just get it and lets check it out. If it fits I may get one, if not then a strip dominator for me too. I guess nobody has run this manifold. How is your winter project coming Bence? Bill.

The winter project will most likely have to wait until next winter. I'm buying parts as I can afford them. I just purchased a 4340 Forged Eagle crankshaft for the big block. I won't have enough money for the 8-71 blower until next winter. Buying Christmas presents really wiped my bank account out this year.

FYI I absolutely love the strip dominator intake. :steering:
