I finally got around to getting some new engine shots. I took this before hood install 'cause it looks better!!

Still gotta get front bumper on and figure out how to get it all under the hood, but here's roughly the new look with the TTII's etc.

Matching Numbers all Original!!!

Holy Hell!!! thats one huge *itch!! What kind of numbers are you expecting? I need to do the same, however my whole car is now kinda dull and dirty. and the garage looks like it was attacked by a seran wrap factory.

WOW!

That looks great!

What kind of alternator is that? I am having a clearance issue with my large 3 wire hitting my tall valve covers... part number? :)

Thanks!

Hey 427Hotrod, looks great, didn't you have the factory stinger hood on before? Will that monster even come close to fitting or are you going to another style hood? :flag

The hood goes on fine right now, with actually a little more clearance than I had with old intake...had to do a little work to pull THAT off. But I have a huge 16" K&N air filter assy that I am determined to get in there and it lacks about a 1/2" or so closing with it installed. Plus I really want to get a 1" spacer under the carb too! So I will most likely being doing a little hood surgery. But it will have to be real subtle..it has to look relatively stock on the outside!

The alternator??? Don't beat me up too bad......but I had the same problem with the stock one barely fitting between valve cover and fender and not having any adjustment. I made a trip to the local "Pick a Part" salvage yd. and wandered around looking under every hood there was to find something that would fit right and I wanted an internal regulator to clean up the inner fender. I *think* I got it off a Geo Metro...or some other little weenie 3 cylinder GM looking thing! It's a Nippondenso unit ( I know Ricer....but my mini starter is one too!) that I paid like $8 for. I took it home, disassembled it and cleaned and painted it all and it's been great for several years now. It puts out around 60 amps(much better than stock!) and is nice and light, plus it looks cool!

You'd be amazed what you can find in those places...new cars have lots of cool hi-tech looking stuff!!

Uh-oh...my secret parts supplier is out of the bag now!

Ok, where are the rest of the pics? Or are you going to post them one at a time? :D

It looks great! Do you know how to put together a motor or what?

Now *that* is an engine! I always liked the intimidating looks of a Dominator and big valve covers. Very clean, and at well over 800 HP it almost seems a shame to cover it w/ a hood...

Nice work Jim!

Take care,

Mark

Hi 427Hotrod -

Now that is one clean looking install - I would LOVE to hear a sound clip of that bad boy...

Those valve covers could be modded to be used as the oil pan on most 4 cylinders!

Thanks for the pic - added to my personal screen saver.

best regards -

mqqn

That carb looks
I also like the alternator - time to go to the junkyard and actually go into the import section :leaving:
