another engine ID question.......
I found an old complete 327 shortblock, all oiled up and wrapped in plastic, looks to be in very nice shape, 2 bolt of course, with original TRW looking hi compression pistons, original bore size...... the casting # converted to '62-'67 327, the pad is stamped "F0716R" no other VIN numbers. Any idea what it is ? (the "R" is not a corvette suffix numbers) or where I could go to decode? I'll be putting it up for sale soon.

Those years make it a small journal crank, engine. The pistons make it sound like a fairly high performance engine. I think you're dead without a three letter code. Good luck, and...
