Issues when backhaving a C-3
Went out today and took some preliminary measurements on the rear end of my car and came to a few conclusions. It is going to be very difficult to get a 32-33 in. tire under this car and still have it look decent. I do not want to have to jack up the rear, I would like to have more of a pro stock type of stance, but do not think it will be doable. They way the rear fenders curve in eats up a lot of tire space when a tall tire is going to be used. You must also take into consideration you have to be able to get the tires on and off. It seems to get everything to fit the way I want I will have to put the tire so far into the wheel wells that it will look goofy. I would apprecitate some ideas or pics of back havled C-3
John, how about some custom bodywork to change the body curves? I don't see a lot of choices - everything is a tradeoff. When you go down the path of large X huge power it will force you to do some things a certain way. How did the 7 second C3 do it?
Good luck, and I can't wait to hear the next installment of your bad to bone project :)

Re: Issues when backhaving a C-3 (The Green Rocket)
I have checked into that, I really do want have to but like you said may have no choice. 632 Big as far as I can tell jacked his up in the rear.
By the way Tom I have relented and decided to run a Mike's Turbo 400. I feel like I have betrayed myself  It will she be a lot easier to get down the track

Re: Issues when backhaving a C-3 (71coupe)
I think the 70-72 factory flares give you a little more room to deal with. Not original but keeps a factory look if that's what you're after
I am sure they do, but I am trying to get a 32-33 ish in. tire under there. Flares are not going to help much. 632big is going to email me some pics of his set up so I will get a better idea what I am up agaisnt. I am going to Super Chevy tomorrow so maybe I will see something there.
.HI. I can send you some detailed specs on your backhalf. I can fit a 33x16 slick under my car, and no it is not jacked up. I can slam it down and keep all the tire under the wheelwell and staying in line with the front tire, but you have to do it exactly as I say or it wont work. It all starts with where you put your centerline in with your wheelwell and 4-link.What ride height you want,Mine is flexable by 3inches up or down. The pics you see are at one of the highest settings, I can lower it 3inches,but with mine it hits the tires too hard at that setting and puts me in tire shake.Send me an email and I will get some info to you. mike. By the way they sell a suction valve that you put on your valve stem that sucks the tire right on to the rim for easy removal of your tires off the car.I can get you one if you want.
