? about engine rebuilds
this is gonna sound like a silly question, but what all does an engine rebuild include? how many parts are replaced? and how durable/reliable is a rebuild compared to a new crate engine? thanks

The term can mean anything from just replacing rings to replacing every single component. Typically, a "complete" rebuild will include replacing or reconditioning every component that has wear or would be less durable/functional than new. If a rebuild is more or less durable/reliable than a factory crate engne will depend on the builder and the components used. A cheapo rebuild is likely to use lower quality parts than the factory enigine but a high quality rebuild might have better parts and more careful assembly than the factory engine.
If a person is particular about what components the final result has, the rebuild might be the better choice because you can have it built to your specs (cam, compression, etc.).
