Default Caution on using Lokar flex dipstick

Yesterday I finished installing my 1.6 roller rockers, and started the engine to check my work, warm the oil, and send all the tiny debris to the pan and filter. Emptied the oil pan, threw my new filter in, and filled up with fresh Mobil 1. Went to check the dipstick, and the end was broken off where it goes from round to flat. I know it was there last week when I check the oil level. Alot of things went through my mind just then on how to get it out, but the only logical thing to do was drop the pan. So today I drained all that fresh oil and dropped the oil pan. to my suprise was not one, but three pieces of the dipstick laying in the bottom of the pan. I'm hoping they did'nt do any harm to the engine as it still runs strong, no funny noises, and has great oil pressure. I'll be emailing Lokar some pictures of the pieces and see ifthey have an explanation on why this broke.
Just thought I'd pass this along to anyone else running one of these units to check it for cracks or wear. Oh yeah, I've only had this in since the spring. About 1000 miles use with it.

do you have the bottom piece in the block for the dip stick tube? if not the dip stick can be hit by the rotating assy.

Actually, I haven't had a chance to send an email yet.

I'm not sure what you mean by the bottom piece in the block. The factory tube just slid into the block and was held down using an exhaust manifold bolt. Same with the new one. The new dipstick is actually a hair shorter than the factory one, so I don't think it hit the rotating assy.

the dip stick tube for a SBC is in 2 pieces, the internal one goes into and bottoms out in the hole in the block and the the external one goes in next.
