It is a relief for sure to have it breathing at last. It is the factory 427 that came in the car (when I got it) and it is a 69 435 block given the numbers and valve recesses at the top of the cylinder bores but I have no idea if it is "the" original block or not. This car was so bastardized when I got it anything could have happened to it. While investigating replacement fuel tanks last night I was surprised to find the factory correct 435 does not have a plumbed return line whereas mine does. I would put money on the fact that the tank is more likely original than the motor. Also the block stampings appear to indicate an auto tranny however the car does not have a removeable cross member. I actually really couldn't care about any of that, I have just had way too much time on my hands as of late and can't stop reading.
Steve,
Thanks for the update. For me I'm changing over to a
Aeromotive Fuel Delivery System. New Pumps,Sump, yada, yada, yada.
I also have a CRF450R that I ride on the weekends and that's
been my primary stress relief from the travel requirements of
having a corporate job. I did get to spend some time with some friends at a private test and tune at OSW two weeks ago. A friend just finished his 509 BBC. IT has a Direct Drive PRO Charger and made
1860 on Alcohol. It's in a flawless Tuxedo Black 65 Cheavy Two and
it ran 187 with a low boost tune up. Car is 3410 with driver.
Getting ready for the World Street Finals in October.
Lots of fun,
Take Care,
Joe
I've been offline for a while now, but I see you haven't been frittering your time away. This is simply incredible. You have once again stretched the envelope of pump gas big block Corvettes. And the workmanship and ingenuity you have displayed is as over the top as the idea of a Big Chief 632" in a C2!
