Any traffic/construction updates?

I’m planning on 59 South to Smith road West to North Avenue and come in from the east at the airport (area) entrance?

We'll be going up on Friday morning from Fort Wayne... Just got new tires but still need to get an alignment done this week. Old Goodyears were down to the wear bars on the rear and based on past experience we'll likely see some rain while were there. Not interested in traveling at highway speeds in the rain with crappy tires in the Z. This show is always a good time. I've always liked the golf course venue - get a good spot, set the chairs up, relax with a few beers - it's cool. I've never understood those who have found fault with BG. It is what it is.

Do we know that there is a Corvette Forum parking area? It's been great in the past, hope they are doing it again!

I believe this has been asked but not “officially” answered yet.

I would assume there will be Forum parking but be sure you print the dash card because they gave those who didn’t a VERY hard time last year!

Corvette Forum parking will be available and there will be signage to direct you to the location. As was noted, please print and have the dash card visible so we can identify you as a member of the forum.

FYI - We have twenty one Gold Year cars registered, 20+ Gold Clubs and a number of great vehicles from Chevrolet as noted on our website - the 427s will be there. The Gold Tour route is also available at www.bloomingtongold.com and I personally invite all interested to head out to staging at the Judicial Center Saturday afternoon. Look forward to seeing many of you on the field.

Anybody else going Friday from McHenry County? Randall Rd South to what 38? Is there construction thru St Charles that should be avoided? Thx.

I have never been but looking forward to the event. The details say that the event begins on Thursday. Has anyone gone on Thursday, will all the vendors be there? Or is Thursday more a staging day for Friday and Saturday? Another crazy summer weekend ahead and just trying to plan it out so I can do everything I want to do.

I was just down Randall to Batavia from Huntley for Father's Day and I saw no real traffic issues. Most of the repaving if not all seems to be done.

Randall road is clear no construction. I have not been down north Avenue that way for a couple of weeks but when I was there was contruction from Kirk road to 59 (kirk is one mile west of Phesant Run) . If you want to be sure and avoid all the construction all together you could take Randall to 38 head east to Kauntz Road. Head north on Kauntz. This road runs right alone the west side of the Dupage Airport and will bring you to the west side of Phesant Run. The Forum parking in the past has always been on the east side. So if you want to park there right before you get to Pheasent Run turn right(east) on Tower Road an enter from the west.

Those of you that are comming down 59 from the North and want to avaoid the construction. Head west on Army Trail from 59 to Powis road. Turn left (South) Powis turns into Smith Road. Smith Road comes up on at the North West corner of Phesant Run. Be care full of your speed on Army Trail Powis and Smith. Wayne Police like to pull over Speeders. I know at one point on Armytrail the speed drops to 30mph

Guys comming from the south on 59. Take 38 west to Kuantz north to Pheasent Run

Update: If you do chose to come in via North Avenue from the east (as opposed to other routes offered above). The construction is minimal. Road is clean. They are working on the shoulder areas off the road (to widen it). Road is narrowed down for a short stretch east of the Pheasant Run. But not much delay. And they stop work at 3pm Friday, no work Sat & Sun.
Hope to see you all at Bloomington Gold Corvettes this week. Great cars, great friends, great times!
Thank you for coming,
Guy

GM will be there with a display of half dozen new 2013 vettes. And they will also have the Ride & Drive going - where you can take (other) Chevrolets for a ride.
Thanks for coming. Enjoy!

I've been there on Thursday and many vendors are still in the process of setting up. Also, many of the auction cars, cars to be judged, etc. are not on site yet. This year, I'm doing Friday and Sat. only. See you there.
