Default Detroit area Michiganders - recommend any autobody shops

My daily driver got damaged yesterday on I-75 - the car in front of me kicked up some debris (I think it was that expansion joint material) and put a good size gouge in the front fascia on my pontiac vibe. Looking for a good shop to do the repairs - a place where you would take your corvette to if it needed body work. I am extremely picky about the vette and I am the same way about my Vibe - even if it is a daily driver. Thanks for any recommendations.

Also, what is the likelyhood of trying to get the state of MI or whomever's jurisdiction the I-75 around the 11 mile exit belongs to foot the bill for my deductible - since it is their road negligence that is the cause of this mishap?
Or am I just way out in left field here?

Thanks for any recommendations.
Ed

Good luck with suing the state. Legally, I think they are immune to that type of stuff anyway.

I have heard good things about Pennington's at 15 & Rochester. I have seen some show cars they have done and they do good work.

Usual disclaimer, not affilaited with them...........

YES, Pennington's is THE place to go. He has been highly recommended. If I had any body work that needed done, I'd go there. And about having the state pop for your repairs, I had a distant relative that swore he got the state to pay for his repairs due to pot holes etc. He claimed he got alignments, exhaust systems, new tires, rims etc, all from the state/counties roads. I'd sure like to know, can't ask him, he died! But, if you find out, let us know.

Good luck with suing the state. Legally, I think they are immune to that type of stuff anyway.
