Using Windows XP & IE8: Trying to access CF, often get "Stack Overflow.." (not a big problem, but ...) and back button is frequently hijacked (is that what you call it?), usually by the doubleclick thing, which is irritating but not fatal.
You can tell I'm not an IT expert, but you shouldn't have to be one to access CF.
Just went to back out of this thread...and COULDN'T! Guess I'll hafta click www.corvetteforum.com , wait for it to load, then head for "off topic" DAYAM!
I will followup. The Comcast ad removal request was made and I assumed it was implemented. However, the issues may not be specific to Comcast ads but rather certain ads due to their programming and the way IE handles a specific event whereas other browsers (Firefox, Chrome) do not have that behavior. Last I heard, the "permanent" fix - by fixing the programming - is being made.

Is there anything new on this? The problem is still prolific with the XFinity ads.
I've been fighting this too.
Probably a lot more that are having trouble and just dealing with it.
I know you're getting money from the ads but you're ticking off your members.
Can't you get rid of the ad until THEY fix it?
When I last checked with IB, they told me they thought the problem had been fixed and/or the XFinity banner cancelled.
It's not cancelled on my computer and I continue to have the issues on IE9 when the XFinity banner rotates onto the page.
It's possible, I suppose, that the XFinity banner is a third-party ad which is triggered by cookies. If so, maybe I get it more than "normal" people because Comcast is my ISP.

I can certainly confirm it's not fixed, and I can also confirm I get that ad far more than any others. I still vote for my original proposal - kill ads in the header/footer where these offending ads are appearing - for paying members.
That fixes the problem for ME. Surely the $200 membership fee I paid is worth far more than the pennies a day you must be making by having me see that ad.

Yeah, I'm a member of a truck forum, but I didn't join until this same thing was resolved (they also had those ads that would float out from the side and stop in the middle of the page - I only saw that one time here).
Out of curiosity, who is the owner of this site. I don't want details, just wondering if it's privately owned or a corporation that owns several sites.

Internet Brands. They bought it several years ago and at that point it went from privately owned, to commercially owned.
Why does this problem continue - now going on 2 months WTF!!! Really annoying if you are trying to search past threads and can't use the back button. Got to start the same search over each time.
TECH, MANY USERS INCLUDING ME ARE REALLY PI$$ED OFF ABOUT THESE XFINITY ADS which continue add nauseum to ruin the forum experience, it's time to get your act together and FIX THIS. (don't like X-finity much as a cable company either)
Just my luck, I buy a vette and find a great forum - unfortunately the forum is on it's way down.
I was a member of another forum - it was sold to a corporation. From then on all that mattered was advertising dollars coming in and membership going up. No cares about what the members or the moderators thought or said. Till too many got pissed and started another forum. Neither of them were as awesome as the original could have been with just a little 'care'.
EDIT - in case this helps;
