I have been trying to update my thread but can't upload pictures?
Have been doing it for a long time but now NG?
Anyone else experience this. I just did it 2 weeks ago fine. Doing the drag and drop from my pictures on my desktop. Always worked. Tried the Photo Bucket way still NG. The mods need to go back to the old way. Any help would be appreciated. I did read the sticky up top and that is why I went back to Photo Bucket.
Hi tp,
I just did the 'drag/drop' method and it worked (except for the size).
I started the post, clicked on the post card symbol, the screen came up, I reduced it, dragged a photo from my desktop to the screen, waited for it to finish uploading, and clicked on the 'Insert' button.
I don't normally do it this way so I would have to set the size to what I normally post.
Regards,
Alan
I just repeated the process by clicking on the post card again for the second photo.
We will need more information other than "NG" (no good?) in order to try and assist with your issue.
Also, what do you mean using Photobucket is "NG"? We aren't affiliated with Photobucket and have no control over how Photobucket works. If you're not able to upload using Photobucket, you'll need to contact them directly to assist as we have no control over how Photobucket operates.

In the sticky above it give an example use photo bucket. I don't usually go that route. I usually drag and drop . Alen was successful and mentioned resizing. I did not resize, so I will try resizing. I just never had to in the past however maybe the pixel count was adjusted on my camera. I will check it be for bring this any further. Experience has taught me, it is usually operator error. Thanks for giving this attention.

Alen can you tell me what size you adjusted the file too.
Did you get an error when trying to upload the file? I'm assuming you used the button to upload?
There should have been a message given if there was a failure, such as the image was too large.
It is possible your images are too large. As technology in cameras continue to improve with larger pixel count, in general, the file sizes do increase. However, CorvetteForum had previously increased the maximum file size with the aforementioned being considered. So it shouldn't be common to have a photo too large to upload.

I thouht the was was too large so I re-sized it from 4000x3000 down to 768x576 still shows up as a icon not a picture (icon is just a square) yes I am using the button you showed.
Are you saying at Step 4 is where you see a icon square instead of the picture after attempting to upload?
BTW, you mentioned an old way. The legacy uploader is still available by using the Manage Attachments button below the message editor. That is the old method. The uses a newer method (atleast new in the sense of the past year).

The upload manager is not appearing and all I get when I click the inset image icon is an http:// box...So something is broken with the upload manager?
No known issues. As you can see, when you click the Insert Image icon to reply to a post or create a thread, the following attachment illustrates what is shown as it's working.
Now if you use the Inert Image icon to a reply to a PM, you will only get an http:// field. PMs have never supported directly uploading images to the server - only hot-linking.

Right after I typed this message I tried it again and it worked. It was not working at the time. I tried it on 2 devices...So I guess it self healed.
You haven't answered this question, but if the problem continues, I solved this problem by downloading and using Mozilla Firefox for access to CF. It's free.

I am of the same mind. I am using explorer. Still running XP. I went through the posses on my laptop running windows 10 and no problems. I am convinced my desktop is out dated.
Thanks to all who were willing to jump in and try helpping with this issue. As usual it's operator error.
