I got a private message that said I was "tagged"by someone ....I dont know what that means . Can anyone help an old guy out

It means someone did this "@z06clif" in a thread. If you click on the link it should take you to where it was done.

It means someone posted and tagged (mentioned) your username. The Private Message contains a link to the post where your username was mentioned.
You can disable the notification by going to UserCP:

Edit Options:

Disable " Receive a Private Message Notification each time I am tagged"
Otherwise, you can read the PM to see the link where your username was mentioned.
