Coming home from Saratoga Tuesday afternoon I decided to take the scenic route. I was traveling south on RT.22 and ran over what I believe was a broken piece from a leaf spring. I stopped, saw the damage to the door and felt sick. Went straight to the auto body guy, when we looked at it we also saw the damage to the lower part of the quarter panel and the panel that is below the door. He tells me I can leave it, I ask him to let me go home and unpack and I'll be back before he closes. When I got home I look at the rear rim and sure enough that is also damaged. I must have ran over the metal again and it tore a piece of the outer rim off.

It's amazing what a good body man can do these days. I'm sure the car will be as good as new.
At least it was the other guy that did something stupid and not you.
This doesn't compare to your unfortunate mishap, but it was something that upset me for a few days:
When I was pulling into the parking spot to check in to the hotel at Carlisle I remembered the high curb and even said to my wife that I had to be careful pulling into the spot. Sure enough I put the lower part of the bumper right up against the concrete and ended up with a nice concrete tatoo.
I really pissed myself off and felt like an idiot because it was my own fault.
As it turned out when I got home, cleaned it up, and took a closer look I found that it looked like the clear bra absorbed all of the scratches and there probably wasn't any paint damage. I brought the car back to the installer a few days later, he removed and replaced the bottom piece of the clear bra, I was on my way a short time later and the car was as good as new .

I did the same exact thing!! I eased into the spot so gently, I didn't realize it.
When I came back to the car, the poor nose was a scrunched up against the curb.
Sorry to hear about the damage linda...
However, I think Billy deserves the new '09 zo6 for your mistake
Let me know if you need a good paint shop...I'll send you the info. for the shop that did my red car (3 times!). His legal team will also fight with the insurance company to get it done right.
