Sorry about the car Lin ......I sure know that feels - but like everyone else said - at least you weren't hurt - people really need to pay more attention to what they're doing

Thanks guys ..... I have been on the phone all morning with the bus company that the POS works for and get this:
He was parked and I drove the Vette into his van. I'll be going back to the mechanic and meeting with the police shortly.

Sorry to here this Linda.
As for YOU driving into him-------------- ALWAYS get the police to the seen as soon as it happens ( when it's NOT your fault ) Don't be nice with the other person you need a report filed . How do I know this , don't ask it would take to long to type it out.

Make the Police Report and let the Insurance Company sort it all out.
These "let's just exchange information and I'll take care of it" crap almost never works out.

My wife had a situation like that a few years ago. She called me from the scene and I told her to call the Police. When I got home she told me that she decided not to take my advice because she felt sorry for the guy because he seemd like a nice kid and he explained to her that he was "getting his life together" and had recently "gotten into the program". She told me that the guy promised to make good on it. Being the screaming bleeding heart liberal that she is, she decided to give the guy a chance.
My young daughter, who was in the car when the whole thing happened kept telling her "you should have listened to dad and called the Police".
The next day I took her car to the local body shop, got a price, and called the guy and told him he could pay the shop directly. He started to give me a song and dance over the phone so we got right in the car, drove to his house, and called the Police to make a report.
The cop got there and agreed to take the report. He interviewed the guy first. My wife was within earshot and overheard the guy telling the cop that my wife ran a red light etc.. It was all that I could do to keep my liberal wife from disarming me and shooting the guy in the head. I actually had to put her in her car and physically hold the door closed until the kid was safely out of there.
Looking back on it, it was some pretty funny $hit.
I got lost in Staten Island one day recently and had to make a U turn (very illegal). Well, of course I wanted to jump the traffic heading the other way when the light turned. Only problem, I misjudged the turning radius and hit the curb. $500 deductible and 4 days later it was good as new. Allstate is awesome and the repair shop had Vette pics all over the place. I was only depressed for four days... I never did like Staten Island !!!!

Linda, I'm amazed that you didn't call the cops to the scene on this. Like I said before, I hoped he had valid insurance. Now they're trying to pull this crap. I got beat out of something like this as a kid in California. A guy hit my Camaro, and promised to pay, until after he jerked me around for two weeks, and just told me to f off, because the time I had to report the accident had expired. I never trust anyone anymore. It's a NY thing.

Things are out of my hands now and in the capable hands of the NYPD
